CITY OF TSHWANE (Pretoria)

Townships in and around the city of Tshwane originated from the apartheid regime that forced Africans, Coloured and Indian communities into their own areas.

The origin of these townships was Marabastad. From as early as 1920 Blacks were removed. Coloureds followed in 1963 and Indians in 1968.

The City of Tshwane townships are
