Foreign soldiers, fighting for Christianity, helped D. Afonso VI, the king of Leão and Castela, in the fight against the Muslims. Among these brave soldiers was D Henrique, to whom the king offered one of his daughters, D Teresa, and also the region between Minho and Algarve, named Condado Portucalense.
D, Henrique and D. Teresa (in the photo) lived in the Guimarães Castle. They had a son, Afonso Henriques, who became the first King of Portugal.
Cavaleiros estrangeiros, lutando pela fé cristã, ajudaram D. Afonso VI, o rei de Leão e Castela, na luta contra os Muçulmanos. Entre esses cavaleiros encontrava-se D. Henrique, a quem D. Afonso deu sua filha, D. Teresa, em casamento, e também o governo do território entre o Minho e o Argarve.
D. Henrique e D. Teresa (na foto acima) viveram no Castelo de Guimarães. Tiveram um filho, Afonso Henriques, que foi o primeiro rei de Portugal.
