Although the church leaders like Jeremiah and Ezekiel did what God wanted, God judged the nation based on whether the leaders followed Him or not.

We as believers can make the difference in our country, but then we have to get out of our prayer closets and start getting involved. It does not help us to have the "great escape" theory that states we will one day go to heaven. God has given us the responsibility (and I believe the wisdom) to rule this nation.
