Look at South Africa - what do you see? Is it a country striding towards the Millennium, full of hope and vigour? Is it a country prospering and at work, building a bright future for the generations to follow? Or is it a country whose progress towards a better future is obstructed by an arrogant and dictatorial style of government. A country where the health system is non-existant, where unemployment and crime have skyrocketed and where violent crime has reduced the nation to a state of seige where law-abiding citizens are in fear for their lives. The only way we can turn this around is with a fresh approach and trough true partnership between all South Africans. That is why the United Democratic Movement exists. It is the only party putting the people of South Africa first and foremost. It is the only party that believes in, stands and fights for every single person in South Africa, whatever their background, their birthplace, the colour of their skin, their religious beliefs, or the language they speak. We are not interested in outdated ideologies or in promoting certain sections of the population at the expense of anybody. The UDM is a party of principle.
